On 24-26 April, Climate Change Education Project Training for Middle School Teachers was Organized in Guangzhou


On 24-26 April, the sixth round of training course for middle school teachers within the Climate Change Education Project was organized in Guangzhou, over 50 teachers and NGO representatives from Guangzhou and Conghua city participated in this course. Prof. Zhang jie, the consultant for decision making of Guangdong Province and Prof. Wu Dui, the former chief researcher of Meteorology Administration of Guangdong Province addressed the teachers in the course with the them of “Low Carbon Policy and Actions of Guangdong Province” and “Climate Change Impacts and Response Measures”, which presentations laid sound foundation for knowledge sharing and awareness raising during the course. Ms. Lili, director of Beijing Envofriends Association and Ms. Hao Xiuling, the art advisor, provided guidance on how to involve climate change knowledge into daily teaching course in middle schools and encourage students to promote low carbon lifestyles. The training form varied each sector including group discussion, stage opera, story telling and competition, etc. The former counselor of Guangzhou urban management committee was invited to present completion certificate to teachers when the course concluded.

This training course was supported by Institute of Environment, Resources and Sustainable Development, Jinan University, Guangzhou Association for NGO Development Cooperation, and Guangzhou Qunli Social Service Center and covered by Guangzhou Channel of Phoenix Net and Yangcheng Evening as media partners.
